The Top 20 Ways to Come Up With Amazing Ideas
The Best Article Every day: "I’m a pretty prolific blogger - between regular posts at Zen Habits, and writing regularly for blogs such as Web Worker Daily, FreelanceSwitch, NorthxEast and more, and writing guest posts for other blogs (such as the excellent Skelliewag), I write a lot of posts every week. And what’s asked of me most often, besides “How can you write so much?”, is the more difficult question: “How do you come up with so many ideas for posts?” That’s not so easy to answer."

Though I think it's kind of sad that this post is in regards to blogging... It really touches on a lot of methods that we use to come up with design ideas or solutions to problems someplace. It's crazy how a lot of the same methods can be applied to so many things.
Here's how I feel about generic and biased based lists like these.....
a.) There will never be the ultimate list in which a person can follow to become successful. If there were, we would all be making millions just because we took 10 minutes to read an article that tells us everything we already know.
b.) They never point out any specifics. "Eating right" and "sleeping properly" are just too generic for any one to actually apply immediately to gain success.
c.) While I do agree with these ideas, it's easy to admit that we have heard this same stuff all of our lives. It really comes down to the application rather than the conceptualization.
I feel like even if these are things we already know, it's not always stuff we remember, let alone practice. Asking questions, thouroughly analyzing, taking risks, looking at the world from a new perspective are all pretty obvious techniques for designing or writing or something, but who ever remembers to go through the list and try something else when they're stuck on something?
I think exercise is a really good point. Giving yourself time to be physiscally active and thinking about your life with a certain level of seperation from it is actualy really helpful.
I think that carrying a notebook is definitely a good. If you always have so many ideas running through your head, sometimes you can't remember them. Or ideas pop up at the most random times, when you least expect it - that's when you get the best ideas.
Driving is definitely another good one. I miss driving while I'm here in PGH, but at home driving gives you a lot of time to think about things that you just wouldn't be able to do in the hustle and bustle of everything else.
Okay, yeah this list is getting a little long and I'm starting to agree with everyone else that it's just generic and really not all that exciting. We know this stuff. You know how to be creative. Otherwise you wouldn't be here. Now get off the computer do something inspirational.
This guy seems to blend excessive organization with a strange zen theory. I’m not sure I buy into everything he is saying, but everyone finds inspiration in a different way. This could also be a list for how to succeed in life without stressing out too much.
