Theatres, Teachers Thrive While Writers Strike

Backstage: "Tensions felt by actors and other creative professionals eased when one of two debilitating labor strikes was resolved last week. Broadway stagehands ended their 19-day strike Nov. 28 after union officials and the League of American Theatres and Producers agreed to a tentative deal that gives tech workers an unspecified raise while reducing the number of stagehands required during preproduction. All 26 productions shut down by the strike reopened the next night."
