Which Side Show Are You On?
Pittsburgh City Paper: "As the lead characters in the stage musical loosely based on their lives, conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton sing such cheekily titled tunes as 'When I'm By Your Side' and 'I Will Never Leave You.' In Side Show's premiere, in 1997, and in many subsequent productions, the twins are portrayed as cover-girl beauties."

So, when I saw this show in reshearsal, I did not get a seedy underbelly of society...a dark play...Hilton sisters who were sad and gaunt looking...maybe I came to the wrong rehearsal? I'm not sure his production is showing exactly what he wanted. I know they did tons of research on the freak show, but the rehearsal did not look anything like what he was describing. The actors were smiling, the twins had nothing but happiness on their faces. I dunno, maybe its different in performance. I guess I'll never know.
