Carnegie Mellon University's School of Music and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) once again invites students, alumni, staff and faculty from Carnegie Mellon to enjoy “Carnegie Mellon Night at the Symphony” February 4, 8 p.m. at Heinz Hall. CFA students only pay $7 in the Gallery.
The discount tickets for alumni, students, staff and faculty can be purchased at the Carnegie Mellon University Center Information Desk. Visit the PSO table in the University Center this Friday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The Bachelor of Humanities and Arts and Bachelor of Science and Arts programs at Carnegie Mellon University wish to announce the opening of our eighth annual student exhibition, "Kaleidoscope", on Friday, February 3, 2006 at 6 p.m. in The FRAME Gallery, 5200 Forbes Avenue at the corner of Margaret Morrison Street. At this time, a reception will commence with live music and refreshments until 9PM. After Friday, "Kaleidoscope" will be open to the public from 12-5 every day until February 7th.
Kaleidoscope will present a wide range of student accomplishments in the arts, especially as they relate to other disciplines. This exhibition demonstrates the interdisciplinary nature of the BHA and BSA degrees and of education at Carnegie Mellon. Work in architecture, art (especially), music, design, poetry, photography and performance have previously been featured.

Spike Lee, one of the worlds most recognized, influential and innovative filmmakers , comes to Pittsburgh for a very special evening. Mr. Lee will talk about his work as a form of art and social commentary, and the audience will have the chance to ask questions during a talk-back following his presentation.
Known for seminal works such as Shes Gotta Have It, School Daze, Do The Right Thing, Mo Better Blues, Malcolm X, Bamboozled and others, Mr. Lee has recently announced plans to make a documentary examining how race and politics collided in the aftermath of 2005's Hurricane Katrina.
