I love award season for theater. It seems that every show will somehow got a nomination for something. What I love about off Broadway is that they have so many different awards that a lot of shows are able to put that in there advertisement. This defiantly helps ticket sales. One thing I do not like about some of the awards is that off Broadway shows are competing with Broadway transfers for some of the awards. I know that shouldn’t make a difference but the transfer shows have more money put in to them to make it the best it can be. I love that they added a projection design category. A lot more shows are starting to incorporate projection design and I see within 10 years that this will be an added category into the tonys. And what makes me extremely happy is that they kept best sound design as an award unlikely the tonys who stopped awarding that a couple years ago.
