Excellence In Live Design Awards | Past Winners
Live Design: For ten years, Live Design has presented the Excellence in Live Design Awards to outstanding projects in each of the following categories: Concerts, Corporate Events, Installations (formerly Architainment), Live For Broadcast, Theatre Production, Venues (club or lounge), and Venues (theatre or performance). In anticipation for the tenth annual Excellence Awards, Live Design is looking back on the industry-voted winners of the past ten years.

This slideshow, showcasing winners of Live Design Excellence Awards over the past ten years, was really incredible. The spectacles and designs incorporated a huge variety of fields, lighting sound, media, architecture, production design, and more, and the range of settings was really unexpected. The winners of these international awards included some obvious examples of high quality production design, like the Olympic Games, Super Bowl half time shows, and Disney events. However I was continually surprised in the slide show to see nightclubs, Southern Baptist churches, boy scout jamborees, and corporate summits win awards over the years as well. I'm also curious now as how someone with, say, a scenic design degree ends up creating the set for a national political debate or a Disney on Ice national tour. It goes to show how our field of design and tech can "creep" its way into so many other industries and create innovative spectacles and environments.
