d3 Technologies Unveils 2x4pro Media Server

ZioGiorgio.com: d3 Technologies is proud to announce the introduction of its newest media server, the 2x4pro. The new server, like the flagship 4x4pro, supports d3’s popular interchangeable VFC (Video Format Conversion) cards, enabling users to drive up to 8 outputs as DVI, 3G-SDI or two DP1.2 from a single d3 2x4pro, which future proof the system as the industry continues to rapidly evolve.

My lack of knowledge about media and the never-ending list of technology that is being developed makes me want to learn more. I was exposed to a sprinkle of media this summer at my internship but nothing at the level of d3. The better, faster and more reliable technology is every media technicians dream. If I've learned one thing about this kind of technology is “you get what you pay for”. If you cheap out and buy technology from your local RadioShack, you are going to have problems. I hope Carnegie Mellon gets the opportunity to play around with this new piece of tech and the designers get to see its full potential and hopefully at some point start implementing it into their design’s. The more technology improves the less restricted the designers are throughout the process. With media being such a new field it takes companies like d3 to continue to improve technology and accessibility for this business.
