Sherlock Holmes (David Whalen) and Dr. Watson (Martin Giles) talk their show at PICT

I saw David Whalen in the hallway today and we exchanged an awkward left-handed high-five/hand shake. "HEY brother! How are you?" "Great. Good to see you!"
True story.
Worked with Dave Whalen at Villanova a few years ago. When he moved his family to Pittsburgh I wished him well. He's been very fortunate, Pittsburgh has embraced him. You see him everywhere! I'd imagine it's a very nice luxury for an actor to have. When you spend more time out of work than having work it's nice to be part of a community. It's nice to become a name in the community.
But beware, that also means you're at risk for awkward man hugs outside Lulu's noodles.
The relationship between Holmes and Watson is always an interesting one. Having read the books one can really interpret the characters in many ways. It seems like these two have really created bond that is interesting and unique. I am curious to see what I think when I see the show. I also find the fact that Moriarty is found in so many Holmes adaptations yet he is in only 1 book. Many people think he must be Holmes' main nemesis throughout but he is not. It's always fascinating to see what people take from the stories they read.
