I don't really think I have much to say about this that the author of the article hasn't already said. If they can make a musical from Silence of the Lambs ("Silence!") and, conversely, put every imaginable show "On Ice" then why the hell not Aliens?

My first impression before reading this article was that it was serious. All I can say is, "Thank an Almighty (any Almighty) it's not." With tongue firmly placed in cheek, this reminds me of the Rocky Horror 'tributes' played out in front of the film. In fact, this seems like the natural progression of such a fan following. I love it.

PS- If you haven't watched the trailer video, I firmly suggest you do so. Art.
