‘Weeds’ Actor Hunter Parrish Finds Artistic Freedom With Rebellious Role in ‘Spring Awakening’
NYTimes.com: "For decades, film and television actors have turned to Broadway as a proving ground: to enhance their craft, to submit to the judgment of a live audience and to see if they can turn in a good performance in just one “take” (as opposed to reshoot after reshoot)."

i think its really refreshing that a tv actor sees the benefit of broadway. Many opt for the financial benefits and never look back. He seems eager to learn and this is reigniting his passion for the art. He really seems to thoroughly enjoy what he does. Also, I bet a lot of weeds fans would go see him in Spring Awakening, and therefore up revenues on Broadway as well.
I agree with the comment above, most of all the point that Hunter Parrish's celebrity will draw in more audiences. I think that it can be a very smart move to hire a famous actor for a role in order to bring in more crowds, as long as the actor is capable of performing the role well.
