Big Paydays for Online Video Remain Rare
Backstage: "Joseph Dougherty represents two faces of the multifaceted world of online entertainment. As a producer-writer for the TNT series Saving Grace, he is currently on strike, fighting alongside his Writers Guild of America brethren for greater compensation for new-media work. Dougherty is also an independent content creator who has authored almost two dozen audio plays. They're posted on his blog Handwritten Theatre (handwrittentheatre.blogspot.com), where visitors can listen to streamed versions or download them -- both are free."

This is an interesting article because while online media like video and audio is certainly more prevalent and accessible now, it makes you realize how much of the web is not being taken advantage of in terms of media money-making. Not that I want to see more online ads or anything. But it's interesting to read just how certain people in this industry are that this is the next frontier, so to speak. It makes me wonder what this might eventually do to film, since TV shows are online now. Will this eventually be an alternative to going to the theatre to see a movie
