Updating ‘Gigi’ and Other ’50s Films Into Modern Broadway Musicals

NYTimes.com: Movie musicals from the 1950s scare me. Just when I’m enjoying the lavish costumes and scenery and a glorious musical number by Rodgers and Hammerstein or Lerner and Loewe, some unseemly social attitude leaps up and reminds me of how drastically times have changed.
