j-o-b - Tech Supervisor

The Theatre and Interpretation Center at Northwestern University is seeking a full time Technical Supervisor. The Technical Supervisor is responsible for the planning, budgeting, execution, and installation of all scenic elements necessary for production. Northwestern produces approximately 8 main stage productions, 3 graduate collaboration projects, as well as a summer theatre festival annually. He/She coordinates the areas of scenery, paint, properties, and works closely with the designers on each production. The Technical Supervisor is responsible for the safe use and maintenance of Center equipment and facilities. He/she is responsible for developing work schedules and supervising the work of staff, graduate assistants, undergraduate students, work study students, student crews and temporary hires. The ideal candidate would have a Master’s Degree in technical theatre and at least 3 years of professional experience, be highly motivated, very well organized with broad-based technical and managerial skills, have great communication skills and work well with others. Salary range low to mid 40’s plus benefits.
