There are my first impressions of each software mentioned in this article

ActiveCollab
To start off, having a software that does this for you is an interesting concept to think about. Isn’t this supposed to be someone's job? I get that businesses are looking for the easier cheaper solution but you lose a lot when you turn to the computer to do the work of a person (but then again that is what the world is turning into)

Website design needs a little work in my opinion (color selection is a little strange)

Asana
Like the last one, this is a person’s job… how about we pay someone to do this work (you know... support the economy by investing in people, not technology…)

I like the website, the front page is a little too lengthily with wording but other than that very nice design

Celoxis
Ok, these softwares just keep getting more and more expensive. I am seeing the appeal in these programs, and you still need to hire someone capable of managing a project and managing this software. Still, it feels as though the more we invest in these softwares and technology (a valuable thing) we are just creating a bigger ditch when it comes to employment

I like the infographics on this website. The design is well thought out (9/10)

LiquidPlanner
I don’t like the need. I don’t know why I just don’t (first impression) I don’t get why you just wouldn’t read a few books on project management and implement some strategies, why pay a monthly service that you are gonna get frustrated with when you start to meet the design limitations of the software (put time into designing your system that works specifically for your team) I mean I guess that is the point of these softwares? They are trying to help people that don’t know how to design a system. I think I am partly bias to this whole thing because my mom is a project manager (she gets paid to do what these software do) so I have had some project management techniques instilled in me so it comes more naturally than it would for others I guess?

I like the quote front and center: “Good teams plan. Great teams execute” that is very true. You can plan all you want but in the end, planning doesn’t get things done (so don’t waste all your time planning, spend some of that energy just doing) Nice website

Mavenlink
I just had a discussion with my mom about project management and the importance of HIRING A PERSON (an educated people that have studied how to design and implement project management systems and tools) when you use the software you miss the ability to adapt to the problems you face. Sure there are probably a few cool tools within the software but it is still limiting

The website is cool but its a little too busy in my opinion

Monday.com
Ok so I realized that these aren’t first impressions of the softwares themselves but more of a statement of my opinion about project management. I would like to see these softwares in action and see what guidance they provide. I am sure that they are very valuable software and are great starts for managing projects that might not have the ability to have someone trained to project manage.

All of these softwares show what organizations use the software to manage projects (Monday.com has some big and recognizable brands!) that's very cool, but you know what these companies have too??? PEOPLE. Invest in people (case and point)

Ok at this point I think you get the just
Wrike and Workfront are probable other amazing softwares for project management. So many softwares are created, so many options in the world. I can see why people get frustrated today, there are so many options and what-ifs out there. Honestly just choose one, they probably all work very well and they will all have their pros and cons
