'I've traded rehearsal room for bedroom': confined creatives' lockdown dramas

Stage | The Guardian: An intensive care doctor reflects on a week on the Covid-19 frontline, a lonely woman wonders when she will next eat a meal with company and all Anya wants is some space for herself in the bedroom-turned-office she shares with her boyfriend. These are some of the scenarios – familiar from the news or from our daily experience – in a set of new lockdown dramas released online on Monday.

Actors are getting a perspective on the people who have to film the work (remember the people that make you pretty on stage and camera… the people behind the scenes!) This is honestly a cool project that they pulled together! I think that it is great to see creatives continuing to find ways to generate revenue from an online platform. I think this might also help actors and performers see that there are many possibilities when it comes to finding ways to make revenue (you don’t just need to get a broadway show or film role to make money to put in the bank). I think that something really interesting the I have been discovering during this pandemic is the use of advertising and marketing in online entrepreneurship. I know that is not what this article is about, but in a time when we are looking at massive unemployment, the topic on my mind is money. Yes, there is something to be said about creatives being locked in their homes and having to find ways to manage this situation, but in the end, being creative isn’t all fun and games. Hobbies don't tend to bills. You have to be willing to market your creativity (which I think has become a focus of many creative today) Rethinking how we manage our creativity, talents, time, money, and well being are all important things we can be working on during our quarantine boredom.
