Years of 'Creative Nonfiction' reborn as NEA funds multiple Pittsburgh arts groups

Pop City: Creative Nonfiction Magazine may have received the smallest amount among Pittsburgh area National Endowment for the Arts grantees, but the work it will allow the publication to do is precious to founder and editor Lee Gutkind. The $7,500 grant will let the nearly 20-year-old publication digitize its back issues from 2003 through 2009, making about 350 essays and other writings available once again since vanishing into the back issue stacks.

I'm glad that the National Endowment for the Arts recognizes a quality publication such as "creative Nonfiction" by supporting its' digitization. There have been so many old magazines and publications that we don't have access to because they went out of print a long time ago. It's also good to see so many Pittsburgh organizations benefiting from the funding of the National Endowment for the Arts.
