SoundWorks Collection: The Sound of The Muppets on Vimeo
Vimeo: On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds.

I absolutely love the muppets, but I really can't remember how that started or when I first saw them. I think Muppet Treasure Island is a large part of my love for the muppets, but my parents also watched reruns of the show which brought them into my view. It's amazing how many people the muppets have impacted over the years. This movie, as they mention, is a way to bring the muppets back. Parents who grew up with these characters are taking their kids which allows the muppets to reach a new generation.
What was really interesting about this video is the amount of work it takes to make the muppets speak, especially when doing musical numbers with humans. While I understand that it is difficult, I like the four year old, just accept that Kermit and all the others are living beings not attached to someone's arm. When acknowledging that a human exists, it actually makes it more amazing what some of these puppeteers do for their characters. I hope that the art of the muppets lives on with more movies and specials.
