Oh dear. David Tennant fangirls are rather rabid and I blame them for this development. Ten completely overshadows Pickard who is in the same production. I'm not sure how I feel about that. On one hand (like Equus) great, popular actors are getting more people to the theater, on the other hand, what does popularization do to Shakespeare?
I agree with Cass; it's great that people are flocking to the theater, but it's preferable when a show is popular because of more than just one actor. I have to admit, I cringe a little whenever I find out that some movie star or pop star is randomly doing theater because that one person draws so many fans.
Pretty amazing to sell out the whole show in under three hours. As for the ticket forging, it was becoming an issue and there was handheld ticket scanners galor brought in as well as a database revamp to try and combat the issue.
