Flamenco ensemble promises a confluence of energy
Post Gazette: "Flamenco sprang from a turbulent confluence of Spanish cultures that included Muslim Moors, Jews and Gypsies. It was the latter group that sustained it, passing on the music and dance through an oral tradition that placed a heavy emphasis on improvisation."

One of the most powerful figures to represent that oral tradition was Andalucia's femme fatale Petenera, a beautiful and irresistible Jewish flamenco dancer who is said to have killed at least 2 of her lovers. Her spirit has been haunting flamenco lore for over 5 centuries. Her story is told like never before in Petenera – a Flamenco Drama in Music and Dance. The DVD is easy to order online at www.musicfilmfactor.com, and I highly recommend it. A unique recording of 2 hours of pure traditional flamenco as it is seldom performed today, and a beautifully packaged collector's itm that makes an excellent gift. See a trailer right here: Petenera – the Finale!
Olé, and Happy Holidays. Michael
