I found it really interesting when I came to CMU how differently each hich school and region prepared its students to write college essays. It seems like very little of us were prepared enoughto write a decent three page paper. Perhaps schools should start earlier with the whole essay writing thing and emphasize strategy when approaching such an overwhelming task, rather than emphasizing punctuation and grammer at the beginning. -Emily L.
