This article leaves more questions than it answers. I wonder how many more performances they had. As we discussed in class with the Jacob’s Pillow incident, I’m sure that the organization took into account the number of performances left and the length of time it would take to do an OSHA investigation. Unfortunately, no matter how many safety protocols are put into place there is always room for human error and for equipment to fail. Of all the avenues for performance art circus work is definitely the one with the highest risk. It’s interesting to me that they specified the age of the performer. With the disclosure of their age it makes one question were they a student or were they one of the teachers for this arts organization?
