I love the Fantastiks, but I always wondered what it was about the musical that audiences loved so much. Perhaps its the simplistic, but gorgeous love story. Perhaps its the music that chants away in your head months after you see it. Either way, I'm pissed I left down this weekend because I bet I'm missing one hell of a show.
this show is just so charming. i went to see it in NYC the week before orientation for my second time and it was just as lovely as ever. i think the simple sets and i hate to say it but simple characters make it really accessible and timeless. the beginning speech is really perfect 'heres the boy, heres the girl.' it can fit in any time or place. everyone wants to fall in love. especially young people. and fathers want and always will want the best for their children (i hope at least). how could it not be timeless?
