Pittsburgh Opera revisits art form's origins
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "'I've been consciously expanding repertoire choices for the company in the past few seasons, exploring areas that had maybe been neglected,' artistic director Christopher Hahn says. 'This coming season is a chance to return to opera's roots, where we go for replenishment, succor and enjoyment.'"

I think a festival of some of the great Italian opera's would be something great for the Pittsburgh Opera to do. And with choices like Madame Butterfly and Aida. I think that these will be greatly recieved by their audiences. I think it will however be interesting to see where they go with each of these pieces. I was first introduced to the Italian opera and the language lends itself to the purpose of opera that it will be nice to see a season in 07-08 that will be full of this wonderful and romantic language.
