Message from Liz

As I’m sure most of you will be aware from previous bulletins, Phylicia Rashad will be visiting Carnegie Mellon University and the School of Drama on Wednesday and Thursday of next week. The gift of time that this very important artist will give to us all is due to the initiative, follow through and powers of persuasion of Gary Kline, who suggested the visit in his capacity as coordinator of acting/music theatre guests in the Drama School this year. Thank you, Gary!

Because of Ms. Rashad’s stature, the visit has opened to the broader campus community. And we also acknowledge the support of Student Affairs and University Advancement in the broader activities.

You have all been notified previously about the University Lecture event, “A DIALOGUE WITH PHYLICIA RASHAD” scheduled for 4:30 on Thursday, February 21st in McConomy Auditorium, moderated by Drama alumna Dan Green and introduced by Kyle Beltran.

However, before that much anticipated event, on Wednesday, February 20th at 12:30, there will be a session to welcome Ms. Rashad to the Drama School in the Chosky Theater. We anticipate approximately fifty minutes for question and answers. If you are FREE during this time – which means for students that the session does not conflict with previously scheduled classes – you are encouraged to attend.

Some of you will also have the opportunity to interact with Ms. Rashad in other ways through out her visit. But the events above are things we can support as a community.
