MAYBE HAPPY ENDING, BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB, and More Win 41st Artios Awards
www.broadwayworld.com: Casting Society honored excellence in casting across feature film, television (scripted and unscripted), commercials and theater at the 41st Annual Artios Awards held at ceremonies in Los Angeles, New York and London. Among this year's theater winners are Buena Vista Social Club, Maybe Happy Ending, English, The Jonathan Larson Project, and more.

This is so cool! I have never heard of this award program before. This makes so much sense though. Casting is one of the most crucial parts of the performing arts, however it commonly goes unrecognized. I am definitely at fault for this too. I can appreciate some good acting, but often forget to acknowledge the people who put those actors there. Casting is arguably even more important than actors. After all, theatre is a collaborative art form. Without an intentional casting of all the actors, the team will not be successful on the whole. So it is awesome that the Artios Awards is recognizing this essential part to any creative team. I think it is also so cool that this award recognizes performing arts globally. I can’t think of other awards that do that. It is also awesome how it extends to different branches of performance! It's awesome to recognize the hard work in theatre, film, and television in one place!
