The 2025 Emmys winners list
Salon.com: Representing the old guard of “peak TV,” HBO netted well over 50 nominations for fan favorites like “The White Lotus,” “The Penguin” and “The Last of Us.” While broadcast networks and basic cable held their own with shows like “Abbott Elementary” and “The Bear,” the top nom-getter in television in 2025 didn’t go out over the air. “Severance” leads all shows with an impressive 27 nominations.

I was very excited to see that “The Pitt” won the award for outstanding drama series! This show was outstanding and brilliant! The idea that the whole season is happening within one shift is so amazing, in most of the shows that are focused in on the first responders we see the patients but we see only about 5% of their stories while they are being treated, but in the show “The Pitt” we see the entire visit, from the 12 hour long waiting periods in the lobby to the longer wait once you get a bed and all the way up until they are discharged. Not only do we see the whole picture with the patients, but we see the whole picture with the staff and first responders. We see how long the shift really is and the toll that it takes. In most of the first responder shows we only see the most interacting and engaging parts of the job and don’t see the hard parts.
