‘The Pitt’ producer John Wells returns to CMU to ‘pay it forward’ at its three-year master’s program
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: John Wells was about halfway through his undergraduate program at Carnegie Mellon University when he ran out of money.
Since he hadn’t paid his full tuition, the school said he would have to withdraw from classes.
But an anonymous person, a previous head of the department, paid Wells’ tuition in full after learning of his situation.
“They said, ‘I don’t want a thank you letter. Just remember in the future that this is all about paying if forward, passing it down,’” Wells said.
