AMERICAN THEATRE: The San Francisco Bay Area’s theatre scene has always been a thriving, joyful beast. We’re one of the most prolific areas in the nation for the development of new plays. We have an enormously diverse indie scene; we have exciting midsize companies doing gorgeous work; we have LORTs producing spectacular shows, often with local casts. This is a truly wonderful place to be a theatremaker.
