Prime movers: the German circus exploring Amazon through acrobatics
Stage | The Guardian: On the eastern outskirts of Berlin, a big top has been erected by theatre company Rimini Protokoll for a circus with a twist. These acrobatics come wrapped in metaphor and high concept: the show is about shopping giant Amazon and the processes of the virtual marketplace.

Theater has often been used to make comments on and critique how the world of the time works, and I think that this example of a theater company using Amazon as their subject is a great continuance for this ancient tradition. Oftentimes these forms of plays end up focusing on social and political issues, but I do think that it is also appropriate to refer directly to a large company like Amazon, especially when Amazon is so much of the modern world. I also think that the poor condition of workers in Amazon warehouses is a good topic for a play because it is an inherently visual act, the act of moving objects from one place to another. Based on the several pictures in the article I think that the production design of this piece is helpful, with the primary scenic elements being boxes like would be seen in a warehouse, but then projection mapping on top of those boxes to bring in external content, such as real videos and a statement form Besos.
