AGMA Ratifies FIRST Agreement with Ballet Idaho
American Guild of Musical Artists: The FIRST collective bargaining agreement between AGMA and Ballet Idaho was approved by AGMA leadership, after being overwhelmingly ratified by the shop.
I was very quick to click on this article. As someone who was born and raised in Boise, Idaho and worked professionally with Ballet Idaho this article is one I have a personal connection to. I think this was a much needed ratification and I am so happy to see positive change happening in my hometown community. Ballet Idaho has always produced beautiful work and I felt they have had a very positive impact on the community I was raised in. I started going to their shows as a young girl and worked with them over the past few summers. I enjoyed working with them and had an incredibly positive experience, however, I always felt this step was much needed to ensure the best working conditions and protection for its employees. I was particularly excited to see the highlights that included a minimum payment, guaranteed time off for things like maternity leave, and an attempt to improve diversity, inclusion, and equity into the company.
