jezebel.com: On Thursday, the California State Assembly passed the nation's first "Yes Means Yes" bill, which was passed by the State Senate in May and is now waiting to be signed by Governor Jerry Brown.
This is an extremely important bill to have passed! I can't believe this hasn't been a law until now, it's completely ridiculous that it has to be explained by law that simply a lack of a "No" does not mean that a "Yes" is present. Hopefully this law will bring about a lower rape rate, not only in colleges, but everywhere. I hope that this law begins a trend that more states will follow in the near future. More colleges need to realize that their students have a serious risk while attending college, going to parties, and living on campus. Unwanted sexual advances need to stop and be taken seriously by campuses and state governments alike.
