Midwest Musketeers Storm Broadway
NYTimes.com: To sit in the orchestra of a Broadway theater in the week before a show begins previews is to wonder that any show ever opens at all. Late on a Friday night, at the close of a technical rehearsal for “Grace,” a play by Craig Wright at the Cort Theater, doors wobbled, lines faltered and costume changes dragged.
Oh does my life follow the Kiss Me, Kate song: Another Openin' Another Show!
ReplyDeleteI've sat through performances where paper tech was the week before tech week, lighting wasn't cued until 3 days before opening, sets fell over, people were in the hospital...you name it. But somehow there is this miraculous voice in theatre people: The show MUST go on. I sit through it daily, and I cannot figure out how in the world a show comes together like that.
