This article was especially interesting because that is not a question that you commonly hear, "what is dance". I love it when choreographers intermix their classical culture with a modern dance style. It makes it that much more interesting and captivating to a larger audience. The work that Akram Khan is doing, especially with mixing Indian culture into a modern forum is becoming more and more common. It is exciting to know that this is happening in dance, it already happened in a whole variety of movies, and is also appearing to become the mixture in a lot of music. Combining the cultures and sharing your origin has become easier through various global connections, the internet being one of them. I hope that the work done by this choreographer becomes known to the rest of the world. Maybe it will inspire them in some way.
