It has always impressed me how open and willing actors are to participating in events such as this one. We talk a lot about the nuts and bolts of unions with regards to their collective bargaining powers, but seldom about their internal running and benefits for members. As unorganized as AEA is, they have done a fantastic job putting together this organization to help support its members through regular fundraising. Besides being an admirable charitable cause, these events also help portray theatre in a positive light and bring more attention to the power it has to change lives.
