iSquint | Entertainment Lighting News & Review: "At the release of Lightwright 5 at the beginning of September, John Mckernon, the developer of the software put together a YouTube video of some of the new features found in the update."
This is actually a rather smart marketing move for Lightwright. First off, they know their audience. They are not trying to sell lightwright to the up and coming designers/electricians, they are trying to re-sell it to their already stable customer base, which is probably where 90% of customers for Lightwright 5 are coming from. In addition, they understand that you cannot just update a program and expect it to sell. For most people, we get comfortable with a version and have little to no complaints so see no read to relearn the program just for some new, but maybe usesless-to-us, features. This whole video is just an advertisement on the changes made to Lightwright which is what the people need to hear in order to get interested. The visuals are of the updates working are also a strong selling point. In all, they've tackled to common problem of selling updated software.
