Work meets play in School of Drama festival

The Tartan Online: "Last weekend, students from the School of Drama came together in the annual independent student works festival, Playground. Playground is a three-day festival in which students create their own experimental works to be performed or shown during the festival. During this year’s event, all performances were free and open to the public, and the pieces varied in style from mockumentaries, to vintage black-and-white silent films, to live musical performances."

  1. I think this year's Playground taught me a lot. One of the things was to try not to overbook myself during the playground. Because we know it's only for a week worth of commitment and often forget the entire responsibilities regarding one production. I know a lot of actors this year also have overbooked themselves with the playground and I hope the students do get to play during playground as much as they work.

  2. It was nice for the Tartan to cover Playground so thoroughly. Perhaps next year they can write an article before the shows, promoting playground and encouraging students from outside of the school of drama to join in the fun.

  3. I second that Playground needs to be advertised outside of the School of Drama. A few non majors mentioned that they wish they had known about Playground earlier and that we should put flyers in CFA and other buildings besides Purnell.
