Friday we will be joined by Phil Lin who is a set designer for QVC, among other projects.

He will give a presentation this Friday (April 11) in Design One from 3 to 5.

He will be talking about his process. There are a number of cutting edge technological techniques that he uses to go from design to production floor that many populations would find useful (A lot of his work is produced on the CNC Router and he will discuss getting sophisticated results with that tool). He will also spend some time talking about idea development. The outline for discussion is as follows:

Ø Idea Development

Ø Major problem solving issues

Ø The production process

Ø Building ideas in the computer

Phil will also be talking to individual students in Design One from 12:30 to 2:40 on Friday before his presentation. There is a sign-up sheet outside of Design One (where the sessions will be held). Please sign up quickly because we don’t have a whole lot of slots.
