Phantoms of Broadway: The Season That Wasn’t
New York Times: "IN a parallel universe you could be deciding tonight whether to try to score a hard-to-get ticket to Annette Bening’s play or Spike Lee’s Broadway directorial debut, or to grovel for a spare ticket to Jake Gyllenhaal’s Off Broadway play. Or, in a season heavy with musical revivals, whether to take in “Pal Joey” or “Guys and Dolls.”"
After the stagehand strike, most people probably didn't realize just how volatile Broadway is, and this article shows that there are a lot of "if"s and "maybe"s in the theater world. On a lighter note, this NY Times article also provides a nice rundown of what was going to be coming up on Broadway, and what will be coming up on Broadway, something that doesn't always get publicized well.
