Almost-free squirting blood effect
MAKE: "This instructable will show you how to make a Swiffer WetJet mop into a sweet squirting blood effect. Also included is a cheap way to make fake blood. Add on the optional circuitry, and you can get a pretty decent heartbeat effect to boot."
Wow, that is one of the more complex ways of doing this I've seen, but also very cool.
I used to have a big interest in filmmaking a while ago and once made a blood effect by using one of those weed-killer pump things. I'm not sure what they're called right this second. You take the tube, cut it, plug the end with some sticky-tack and pump the blood out...then it bursts out like you've got shot. Scared some neighbors.

Still, this way is pretty nifty.
