No increase to California Arts Council in governor's 2007-08 state budget

The Eureka Reporter: "“This is one of any number of areas on the state budget where we maintain the budget consistent with last year’s,” State Department of Finance Spokesman H.D. Palmer said. “The reason is that we wanted to make sure that we continued to control the rate of growth in state spending and also it was one of hundreds of decisions that were made to help us get to a budget that zeros out the state’s net operating deficit next year.”"
