When they made "The Producers" movie, they had cut several parts from the original production. Because I had seen the travelling show, I was disappointed that these numbers had been cut. It will be interesting to see what parts they cut out for this new Las Vegas version.

Though in full understanding of the 'Vegas method' of producing entertainment, (the idea of getting people in and out as fast as possible) this all supports my radical theory that America is developing a bad case of ADD. Even though The Producers is not a show of vast substance, the idea that people just dont 'want' to sit through a performance is nausiating. I am nervous that this is the road that this industry is going down. Yet on the other hand, people change and the times must change with them. Its certainly true that modern audiences couldnt sit through a five hour Hamlet like those of Elizabethan England did. And for the record, that picture of David Hasselhoff trying to do theatre ooks like my high school's publicity photos of The Music Man.
