The Tempest

New York Times: "About the only tool both productions share is the language barrier however. Otherwise the two stagings are at distant stylistic poles in terms of approaches to Shakespeare. Mr. Donnellan’s relied only on the basic building blocks of theater — the actor, the text and such sets and props as are strictly necessary — to weave its happy spell. “La TempĂȘte” makes extravagant use of video technology and a churning electronic music score to unfold Shakespeare’s tale of wrongs righted and justice served. Notwithstanding the impressive technological wizardry, unfortunately, theatrical magic is in short supply."
