Did Critics Love Trevor Nunn's New Version of Porgy?
Theatre.com: "Trevor Nunn has returned toPorgy and Bess 20 years after he first staged it for Glyndebourne Opera and subsequently at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.Now the director/adaptor has now brought the Gershwins’ masterpiece back as a West End musical. This new version, which opened on 9 November at the Savoy Theatre, finds recitative replaced by dialogue and the music re-arranged by Gareth Valentine. The title roles in the show are played by West End veterans Clarke Peters and Nicola Hughes. Did critics love this Porgy?"
