Once this theatre opens, I think it will definitely be a big hit. From the sound of it, this theatre renovation is something truly immersive and entertaining. The renovation of this theatre was probably the best thing for it, economically and communally. Not only will the theatre bring in money, but it will also allow the community to come together for some sort of cinema or art. I personally love going to the movies, but this sounds like a whole new experience. The article mentions the projectors along with other media being used, and adds a sense of mysteriousness, almost like you have to experience it to understand the immersiveness. During the renovation, it was also a smart idea to think about theatre rather than just movies, because again, it will make money, and draw people in from the community. I can't wait to be able to visit and enjoy an immersive theatre experience.

I think the reopening of the Hollywood Theater sounds like an incredible addition to Pittsburgh’s cultural scene. I feel like the plan to restore it as an “atmospheric theater” shows some appreciation for cinema history while also embracing modern design and immersive elements. I like how the renovation balances nostalgia with innovation. The idea of having the feeling of a starry sky above, while also introducing new formats like 70mm screenings and live events is very cool, and I think it will be very popular. It seems like the theater is becoming more than just a place to watch movies, but it’s also being designed as a community hub for film lovers, live performances, and even other unique events. The attention to detail, from the restored projectors to the intimate second auditorium, shows how much thought went into making this space versatile and welcoming. I believe it will be a special experience that will draw a wide range of people from serious film fans to people who just happened to stumble across together in one shared space. I would also love to visit when it opens.

This will be a wonderful addition to the Pittsburgh art scene! I do love old historic theatres, and the Hollywood Theatre fits that perfectly it seems! This will be awesome not only for extending our theatre and cultural scene, but also restoring some memories for people and history in pittsburgh. While it is unfortunate that they are only using this for a single screen movie theatre, maybe eventually, they will move into a setting like Tampa Theatre where they add a small stage at the front- of course nothing like the Benadum or Straz in Tampa, but like half the size to expand what their space can have, further pushing our art scene in Pittsburgh. However, just restoring the theatre in general is a great step in the right direction and I am excited to go see and tryout this new theatre! I’m very excited to see if similar theatres that are closed follow in this direction!
