Cordless tools can be extremely convenient. A shop I used to work in was extremely large and had few outlets. The result was a tangled mess anytime more than one person was working. The implementation of cordless drills really helped the shop work smoother. But, as we were in a school setting, few of us worked longer than a couple of hours at a time. On weekends, we began to see charging issues, where a tool would run out of battery before we were done. Luckily we had a dedicated charging station with plenty of spares. But, one of the main issues that people have with cordless tools is their shortened lifespan. Additionally, I've heard that cordless tools can be less powerful than corded tools.
ReplyDeleteWhat I really wonder about is tools that usually use an air compressor. Air compressors can be bothersome to carry around and can take up a lot of space in a shop. I wonder if, for example, a cordless staple gun would perform as well as a gun with pneumatic lines.
