DeWalt FlexDrive Cordless Screwdriver DWHT66719

Pro Tool Reviews: I am among those who loved using DeWalt’s gyroscopic screwdriver. Sadly (for me), it’s only available on the used market, but the DeWalt 4V FlexDrive Cordless Screwdriver continues the trend of innovative design for this underrated tool class. I’ll walk you through what’s unusual about the design, what kind of performance you can expect, and whether or not it’s a worth adding to your tool bag.

  1. Well, as far as the DeWalt standard goes, I guess this tool could be worse. The DeWalt FlexDrive Cordless Screwdriver has two main pros that actually make it not that bad. The first is that the bits secure into a collet, similar to that of an impact driver. This means that you're not reliant on a small magnet and some super glue to keep your bit in your tool. This is a problem I've un into with my ratcheting screwdriver, and not one I want out of a more expensive tool. The LEDs present on the end of this tool are a nice edition, as seeing what you are working on is very helpful. However, this article specifically brings up how hard it is to operate with one hand. Most times you are going to use a screwdriver, it is best if you have one hand free. So DeWalt not designing their tool to be used with just one hand is a huge oversight. Especially when priced around $80.
