Expo 2020 Dubai opens Eden-designed Terra pavilion
blooloop: Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion, a groundbreaking visitor experience co-designed by the Eden Project, has opened as part of Expo 2020 Dubai in the UAE.
Terra is the first Eden-designed experience to open to the public outside the project’s home in Cornwall, UK. Eden Project International co-led the landscape design and visitor experience alongside partners Grimshaw, Thinc Design and Expo 2020 Dubai.
Just last week, I commented on an article about the 2020 World Expo taking place in Dubai and how interested I was in attending a World Expo. This specific exhibit only makes me more interested. After reading this article, I did even more digging into the sustainability experience, Terra. The exhibit looks absolutely stunning. The architecture in it of itself is extremely intricate and beautiful. One interesting thing I read was that, "Expo 2020 Dubai recently revealed that Terra is already inspiring visitors to make changes, with 96 percent of guests motivated to save water or use less plastic." I am interested how they polled this. Was it just a simple yes or no button as you exited? Did people talk to visitors? I am curious as I think how they did this as it could affect the results by a lot. This article also made me interested in what the Eden Project was and what other exhibits they have. I am curious to dive deeper into this.
