The Hollywood Reporter: R&H—which filed for bankruptcy protection on Feb. 13 and is scheduled to be auctioned on March 27—has typically provided lunch and dinner during overtime, which was apparently eliminated as a cost-cutting measure due to its bankruptcy, according to an employee.
Gestures like this are touching, especially after such a universally recognized, wonderful day such as Pi Day. It is nice to see corporations helping each other stay on their feet, even if it is partly for self-serving reasons, but in this case Legendary Pictures went that extra mile to make their workers feel appreciated. As everyone knows, a way to a man's heart is through his stomach, so providing lunch and afternoon treats are definitely a good way of saying thank you. It is interesting, however, that Legendary is working so hard to keep R&H on their feet when they are so far in the gutter and require such a large loan.
