Variety: Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera," previously announced in Variety, will premiere at the Theater Royal Plymouth in March 2012 as part of a year-long U.K. tour.
This is the first I have heard of this! With Phantom's 25th American anniversary recently past and Weber's not so well received sequel, Love Never Dies, in the public eyes, Phantom has been a popular topic for articles lately. That being said, I am quite excited to learn that the show has gone through a re-vamping. I believe that a new visual look could refresh this amazing show and do wonders for an audience who perhaps may be getting a bit dulled by the same show for the past 25 years. I can't wait to see how its received across the sea!
