PittsburghLIVE.com: "80 photographs from Julia Christensen’s forthcoming book “Big Box Reuse” will be shown in an exhibition that examines how communities are changing in the shadow of corporate real estate."
I went to this the first day it opened. It was interesting but not well put together. It was difficult to decide how her research and photo essays fit in with her structural peice.
I visited this exhibition and was also disappointed by how it was executed. I felt like the pictures on their own did not fully convey the point that the artist was trying to make, and the notes that accompanied the pictures were not specific enough. In the same way there was little explanation for the structural piece, which without reasoning comes of as an unrealistic and impractical solution.
